The Ma’anshan Park, named after its saddle shape, is located in the city center of south coast of Liu river, to its west and east is the fish peak mountain. The saddle mountain standing beside the river is as if a horse is galloping to sky, thus, it is called “horse roaring to sky”. It is one of the Liuzhou’s eight attractions.

The mmountain, with 500 meters long and an altitude of 270 meters high, stretches to east and west, and is the highest mountain in Liuzhou City. On the top of the saddle mountain you can overlook whole Liuzhou city. According to a legend, Li Tieguai and Lu Dongbin, the two of the eight immortals in ancient China, played chess in this mountain, leaving a foot-long footprint and a stone chess board. The legend of that “immortals were playing chess in saddle” has never been fading away. The mountain became a subject for famous poets and writers in ancient China, they left a wealth of poems. It is very interesting for visitors to appreciate the poems while sightseeing.
