Since this year, the agricultural and rural departments at all levels of Liuzhou have been earnestly implementing the general requirements on economic development raised by the CPC Liuzhou Municipal Committee and Liuzhou Municipal People’s Government, focusing on supply-side structural reform, and the construction of major projects, as well as industrial opening and upgrading, and vigorously promoting the related work of agricultural production, so as to inject new driving forces into the economic development across the city.

According to statistics, this year, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery of Liuzhou is expected to reach 35.7 billion yuan, up 3.6% year on year; the added value of the primary industry is expected to be 23.772 billion yuan, up 5.02% year on year. The per capita disposable income of rural residents is expected to be 14,837 yuan, up 10% year on year. Among these figures, due to early layout and optimization of the meat supply structure, the total output value of animal husbandry of Liuzhou remains stable and witnesses a slight increase, and it has completed 67.6% of the annual target set by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to produce 220,000 tons of meat. It is estimated that the degree of self-sufficiency of pigs in Liuzhou will approach 100% by the end of 2020, which will adequately guarantee the effective supply of “food basket” of Liuzhou.
