Liuzhou has proposed the development target of Luzhou’s tourism during the 13th five-year plan period, according to the 2016 Liuzhou City Tourism Conference. By 2020, Liuzhou is expected to realize 36 million visitors in domestic tourism with a 6% annual increase. The domestic tourism will target at an earnings of about 49.68 billion yuan with an annual increase of 14%. The income of international tourism is aimed at 81.38 million dollars with the total income of 50 billion yuan. A good start, particularly in the opening year of the 13th five-year plan period, is expected to achieve the target.

In 2016, Liuzhou will work hard on the construction of A class scenic area, especially on perfecting visitor centers and assistant facilities of 100-mile Liujiang scenic spot, starting identification system construction and arranging its management system. Liuzhou will also put all efforts to create a 4A class and two 3A class scenic spots.

In terms of marketing, Liuzhou will catch the new opportunities relying on high-speed rail (HSR), conduct a series of theme activities and expand tourism cooperation with cities along the HSR. The city will be ready to welcome tourists on the basis of the chances brought with the opening of Sanjiang-Guilin and Sanjiang-Guangzhou HSR lines in this May.
