On January 30th, it is learned from the Working Meeting on Spring Festival Travel 2015 for Road and Waterway Transports convened by Liuzhou Municipal Bureau of Transport that the passenger flow of road transport is expected to decrease during the Spring Festival Travel 2015 for the first time, due to the strong impact by high-speed railway. It is estimated that the number of passengers taking road transport will be 3.6 million, with a year-on-year decrease of 5%. However, the passenger flow of bus and taxi transports will continue to increase. It is estimated that the number of passengers taking bus and taxi transports will be up to 26 million and 8.64 million, with a year-on-year increase of 10% and 5% respectively.

The 40-day Spring Festival Travel 2015 will start from February 4th and end on March 15th. During this period, the road transport of Liuzhou will be characterized by passenger flows of students, workers, relatives and travelers. The passenger flow of road transport is strongly impacted, due to the opening and operation of Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and Nanning-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, the frequent running of CRH trains, the increase of railway transport capacity (including temporary passenger carriages and extra carriages), as well as the annually increase of self-driving trips.

Therefore, Liuzhou plans to put 2,272 passenger buses with 52,436 seats, 170 sightseeing buses with 8,652 seats, 2,079 taxis (excluding that of the six neighboring counties) with 10,395 seats, 1,003 city buses (excluding that of the six neighboring counties), and 50 emergency passenger buses into operation during the Spring Festival Travel 2015.
