Shanghai General Wuling has become a highlight again yesterday afternoon. The 1,000,000^th automobile of the company produced in 2009 has been finished.

Secretary of Guangxi CPC Mr Guo Sheng Kun, vice chairman of Guangxi Mr Yang Dao Xi, secretary of Liuzhou CPC Chen Gang and secretary of the company He Wei pushed the finish bottom together. Mr Guo pronounced the finish of the 1,000,000 automobile while the car slowly drove out from the workshop.

The finish of the car has made Liuzhou the first city to have 1,000,000 produced in one year, as well as the most automobile produced per capita. It is another milestone in the city’s industrial history. It also marks the city is sailing to an international automobile city.

Mr Yang said, the achievement is a result of the people’s hard work and innovation. It represents the city’s spirit of exploring and innovation. He also stated that it is now the best era for Guangxi’s automobile industry. We have infrastructure and support for the industry and great opportunities. The provincial government will provide further support to improve the industry. And as leader in Guangxi, Liuzhou should take the responsibility and be the best. He hopes the date will be another starting point for the city to make further achievement.

Since the first automobile was produced in the city in 1969, the automobile industry has become the principal driver in the city’s economy and a symbol of Guangxi’s auto industry.

Chen Gang said, the city’s auto industry is now standing at a higher starting point, with new goal and destination await ahead. He said the goal for the city in the 12^th 5-year-plan will be 400 billion GDP and double the industrial profit. New products will be adopted and produced while local accessories production line will be improved. 

The ceremony was hosted by Mayor Zheng Jun Kang. Secretary of Guangxi CPC Mr Guo Sheng Kun, member of the standing committee of Guangxi government Yu Yuan Hui, Vice chairman of Guangxi Yang Dao Xi, Gao Xiong and Liang Sheng Li, secretary of Liuzhou CPC Chen Gang expressed their congratulations to the company and its related companies, including Shanghai General Wuling Automobile Company, Dong Feng Liuzhou Automobile company, No.1 Automobile Liuzhou Branch, China Heavy Vehicle Corporation Liuzhou Branch, Liuzhou Wuling and Liuzhou Yan Long Automobile.

Provincial government officials including Guo Sheng kun, Yu Yuan Hui, Yang Dao Xi, Gao Xiong, Liang Sheng Li and Liuzhou government leader Chen Gang signed on the ceremony book. Guests presented also included vice chairman of Guangxi CPPCC Liang Yu Ning, former vice chairman of Guangxi CPPCC Chen Lei Qing, Zhang Chong Ren, Liuzhou municipal government officials including Hu Jing Chao and Zhou Zhuo Xin, as well as other officials from related municipal and provincial government bodies.
