As the Guangxi Sanyuesan Festival approaches, reporters learned from the city art theater on March 31 that the 2026 China (Liuzhou) “Yufeng Song Fair” National Folk Song Invitational Competition will be held on April 17. The event is open to the public, with no restrictions on age, gender, or nationality. Registration will remain open until April 8.
Entries should include original folk songs that reflect the ethnic characteristics of various provinces and autonomous regions, newly created folk songs, as well as adapted or reinterpreted modern folk songs. The content should celebrate a better life, a harmonious society, ethnic unity, the Party, and the people, while conveying positive energy. Performance formats include solo singing, duets, and group performances of no more than four people. Contestants are required to bring their own instruments and costumes.
Liuzhou looks forward to welcoming contestants from across the country. At the same time, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has launched three featured rural tourism routes for spring. Two of them—the “Guilin Landscape Spring Tour” and the “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Folk Experience Spring Tour”—include Liuzhou among their recommended destinations.
The “Guilin Landscape Spring Tour”, themed with “Picturesque Scenery, Vibrant Spring”, connects top rural attractions in Guilin, Liuzhou, and Hechi. Featuring karst landscapes, terraced fields, Danxia landforms, and ethnic culture, it offers a rich spring itinerary that combines nature sightseeing, rural experiences, photography, and leisurely hiking.
Visitors can head to Pingyan Village in Linxi Town, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, to admire fields dotted with rapeseed and peach blossoms, listen to Dong Grand Songs echoing through the flower sea, join the traditional “Yueye” gathering, and enjoy sour fish, sour pork, and Dong-style oil tea. At Xianren Mountain Scenic Area, they can take in rolling tea terraces and pink cherry blossoms while savoring Sanjiang oil tea. They can also visit Yuanbao Mountain National Forest Park in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County to see rare pale pink rhododendrons hidden among vast red blossoms, sample Rongshui rice noodles, and enjoy the distinctive flavors of Yao-style cured meats and dried bamboo shoots. In Dazhao Village of Zhongdu Town, Luzhai County, sweeping rapeseed flower fields spread like a golden carpet, where visitors can join folk song exchanges, try farming activities, and taste local specialties such as Zhongdu sliced rice noodles and Dazhao lotus root.
The “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Folk Experience Spring Tour”, themed with “Splendid Zhuang Homeland, Spring along the Border”, links leading rural attractions in Liuzhou, Hechi, Baise, and Chongzuo. Combining karst scenery, ethnic heritage, borderland customs, and the charm of ancient villages, it offers a spring journey that blends nature, cultural exploration, intangible heritage experiences, and leisure travel. Visitors can explore the Liuzhou Luosifen Industrial Park, which integrates cultural displays and educational experiences, tour intelligent production lines, and gain an immersive understanding of the full Luosifen industry chain. They can also visit Luosifen Town to learn traditional production techniques and try making Luosifen and pickled bamboo shoots themselves.
